Capral has introduced a new Shop Drawing feature into CRE8 3.8. This feature sits in between the existing one-page presentation report accessible in CADLink, and the Drawing Module or CAD software.
The Shop Drawing Generator will quickly and easily generate shop drawings in PDF and/or DXF format(s) for an entire quote.
At release, the Shop Drawings feature has the following functionality:
- Generate shop drawings across an entire quote. Must be run from within a quote.
- Four static template options
- Save in PDF and/or DXF format
- Select save location and file name
- Some quote information is displayed. We are planning future improvements to include additional information on the templates.
To generate shop drawings
The Shop Drawing macro is only accessible from within a quotation on the Capral Toolbar. Inside an open quote, select the below indicated button while in Design and it will open the Shop Drawing dialog box.
The dialog box allows you to:
- Select one of the available templates,
- Displays the quote number (reference only – not editable),
- Change the save location and filename. This can be done by clicking on the button,
- Select whether the drawing should be saved in PDF and/or DXF format.
Click Save to generate the drawings and a dialog box will pop up once complete.
Adjusting Shop Drawing Settings
In some cases, Shop Drawing dimension font sizes may not be ideal. It is possible to adjust these settings in your options. See the next section for some suggested settings however if these are not ideal, we recommend you try adjusting the settings in the options until you get your preferred result.
1. To access the drawing options in V6,
2. Navigate to Project Drawings and select the Shop Drawing tab.
3. Adjust settings as necessary.
Shop Drawing Setting Suggestions
See below for some settings that have been used by Capral in the development of the Shop Drawing function. These may not suit all customers so feel free to trial different settings until you get a result you are satisfied with.
