Novon Lighting, a leading Australian manufacturer of commercial & architectural lighting solutions, has built its reputation on delivering performance-driven, sustainable lighting products with design flexibility at its core. From the outset, sustainability has been a guiding principle in the development of its flagship DynamiX product line, which proudly features Capral Aluminium’s LocAl® Super Green lower-carbon aluminium.
The DynamiX range is known for its precision, adaptability, and high level of customisation across a wide range of commercial, healthcare and architectural environments.
Just as importantly, it reflects Novon’s ongoing commitment to responsible manufacturing. By incorporating Capral’s LocAl® Super Green aluminium into the range, Novon has ensured that sustainability isn’t just a consideration—it’s embedded into the DNA of the product.
“DynamiX has always been about delivering precision, flexibility and performance in architectural lighting,” said Novon Lighting representative. “But equally important is our responsibility to the environment. From the start, we chose to manufacture DynamiX using Capral’s LocAl® Super Green aluminium because it allowed us to deliver a high-performance product that also supports sustainable building practices.”

Capral’s LocAl® Super Green aluminium stands out for its lower carbon footprint—approximately 4kg CO₂e per kilogram of aluminium—substantially lower than traditional aluminium products available in the Australian market. Sourced from aluminium smelters using alternative energy sources and holding Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) Chain of Custody certification, LocAl® Super Green is aligned with Capral’s broader vision of enabling a more sustainable manufacturing future in Australia.
“Partnering with forward-thinking manufacturers like Novon demonstrates what’s possible when sustainability is embedded into design and production from the ground up,” saidLeanne Cannarella from Capral Aluminium. “LocAl® Super Green was created to give Australian manufacturers access to low-carbon aluminium without needing to look offshore. Novon’s use of it in their DynamiX range is a perfect example of local, sustainable innovation in action.”
Capral’s commitment to environmental responsibility is reflected in its ASI (Aluminium Stewardship Initiative) certification under both the Performance Standard V3 and Chain of Custody Standard V2. It is the first Australian aluminium extruder to achieve these certifications, which validate its dedication to sustainability, transparency, and ethical supply chain practices. In 2023, Capral’s efforts were also recognised with a Green Building Product award at the Architecture and Design Sustainability Awards.

Capral is a proud member of the Australian Made Campaign, reinforcing its commitment to supporting local industry and manufacturing. Novon, as an Australian-owned manufacturer with a strong local presence, shares this commitment through its investment in advanced local manufacturing capabilities. The Australian-made logo remains an important symbol for many businesses, helping customers identify products that support local jobs, economies and reduced transport-related emissions.
Beyond material choices, Novon has embedded sustainability across its operations. From producing energy-efficient LED systems in facilities powered by renewable energy, to minimising waste through advanced AI and machine learning systems, recycling excess powder within our coating process, and capturing and reusing all water and chemicals to eliminate discharge to waste, Novon ensures sustainability is built into every stage of production.
Together, Novon Lighting and Capral Aluminium are demonstrating how collaboration between local innovators can shape a greener future. Through products like DynamiX, made with LocAl® Super Green aluminium from Capral, they are lighting the path forward for sustainable design in the built environment.
